Publication year: 2016
A new 3D, physics-based model of fire propagation in natural environment is used to predict the time-dependent behaviuor of wind-driven grassland fires over flat terrain The mathematical model is based on a multiphase approach that consists i solving the conservation equations governing the time-evolution of the coupled system formed by the vegetation and the surrounding gaseous medium.
