WUIWATCH Webinar: Managing Uncertainty in WUI Emergencies
Date: 21/04/2016 Hour: 10:00 CET Room: https://zoom.us/j/640311947
The response to wildfires that affect WUI, and the emergencies that it creates, involves the management of large amounts of information (fire potential, changing fire behavior, population in risk, resources, etc.) in a rapidly changing environment that may overwhelm emergency responders.
This often creates a situation of 'infotoxication' that slows down and sometimes hinders the decision making process by saturation. This situation forces the responders to manage uncertainty generated by the 'infotoxication' of fire services and responders, and in turn, increases vulnerability of the overall situation (responders and population), limiting significantly the decision capacity.
A webinar by Marc Castellnou, Pau Costa Foundation.
Limited access to the first 100 connexions.
